How to Use a Water Trampoline
![]() |
You've probably heard of a trampoline, but have you heard of a water trampoline? Water trampolines are made for use on large bodies of deep water such as lakes, and are lots of fun in hot weather. You can even build your very own water park using attachments to the trampoline like platforms and aquatic slides. The first thing you'll find when shopping for this type of trampoline and accessories is that there's lots of variety out there.
There are aquatic trampolines in different sizes and shapes. You'll usually find square and round as the predominant shapes. Sizes vary and can range from as small as 11 feet to as large as 25 feet or more. On average, an aquatic trampoline will be more expensive than your average land trampoline. You can expect to pay anywhere from $1,000 to $5,000 for one. Before shopping for an aquatic trampoline, make sure you have a good place to put it. You'll need water that is at least ten feet deep, and you'll need to be able to install it at least thirty feet or so away from any docks, boats or other objects.
Setting up one of these trampolines is a bit more difficult than setting up one on land. You will need at least one helper and an hour or two to do the job. Detailed instructions will come with your trampoline that must be followed to the letter. The trampoline is usually attached to a large tube, which is in turn attached to a pump that inflates it. After installing and inflating the trampoline, it will need to be anchored. Anchoring materials will be included with the trampoline. The method you use to anchor your trampoline will depend on the ground conditions and the anchoring recommendations or restrictions of your local area.
You'll definitely want to buy a water trampoline with a good warranty plan. Many quality aquatic trampolines offer lifetime warranties. Another good thing to have is a patch kit, in case your trampoline gets a hole or springs a leak. Most people leave their aquatic trampolines up all summer, because it's simply easier. There are covers available to protect your trampoline from weather damage and wear when not in use. When you are ready to deflate your trampoline for the colder months, wipe it down with soapy water, rinse thoroughly, and allow to dry before packing away.
